Manisha Kumari Shah

President

Ms. Manisha Kumari Shah serves as the President of DHRPS, providing overall governance, strategic direction, and institutional oversight. She plays a central role in strengthening the organization’s accountability, transparency, and alignment with national and international human rights standards. Her leadership emphasizes ethical governance, meaningful participation of persons with disabilities, and long-term sustainability of the organization. Under her stewardship, DHRPS continues to grow as a credible civil society organization advocating for the rights of children with disabilities and inclusive community-based systems.

Man Bahadur Rai

Vice President

Mr. Man Bahadur Rai holds a Master’s Degree in Nepali and brings more than 17 years of experience in education, disability inclusion, and organizational leadership. He has nine years of experience as a teacher and has served in key leadership roles, including General Secretary of Yuwa Apanga Sangathan Nepal. He has also worked with HRDC and Apanga Bal Aspatal under education and training divisions.

Mr. Rai has extensive experience in training facilitation, mentoring, monitoring, and community-based disability programs. His expertise includes inclusive education, institutional monitoring, physiotherapy-related awareness, and identity-based empowerment of persons with disabilities. As Vice President, he provides strategic guidance to DHRPS’s deinstitutionalization efforts and community-based child protection initiatives.

Rabindra Pant

General Secretary

Mr. Rabindra Pant is responsible for organizational coordination, governance documentation, and internal communication within DHRPS. He supports the effective functioning of the Board and General Assembly and ensures compliance with statutory and donor requirements. His role strengthens organizational systems, coordination with networks, and engagement with partners at local and national levels.

Sushma Thapa

Vice Secretary

Ms. Sushma Thapa supports governance processes, documentation, and coordination. She plays a key role in maintaining organizational records and supporting smooth communication between the Board and operational teams.

Laxmi Rana Magar

Treasurer

Ms. Laxmi Rana Magar oversees the financial governance of DHRPS. She is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, expenditure oversight, and compliance with national regulations and donor standards. Her role ensures financial transparency, accountability, and effective resource management, contributing to the organization’s credibility and sustainability.

Dev Kala Prajuli

Board Member

Ms. Dev Kala Prajuli is actively involved in grassroots advocacy and community mobilization. She contributes to awareness-raising on disability rights, family-based care, and social inclusion, particularly at the local level. Her experience strengthens DHRPS’s outreach to marginalized families and caregivers of children with disabilities.

Jyoti Harijan

Board Member

Ms. Jyoti Harijan is an entrepreneur and advocate for women’s economic empowerment. She owns and manages a handicraft business employing 22 young women, many from marginalized backgrounds. With a background in entrepreneurship and handicrafts and a Secondary Education Examination (SEE) qualification, she brings practical experience in livelihood development, economic inclusion, and women-led enterprises. Her contribution supports DHRPS’s focus on economic empowerment of women with disabilities and caregivers.

Kalpana Bhujel

Board Member

Ms. Kalpana Bhujel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) and has over 14 years of experience in administration and organizational management. She has worked for DHRC Nepal and served as an office secretary for nine years, alongside five years of experience with HRDC. Her governance experience, administrative expertise, and understanding of institutional systems strengthen DHRPS’s internal management and Board effectiveness.

Kamala Pokhrel

Board Member

Ms. Kamala Pokhrel has experience in training facilitation, workshops, and basic computer skills. She is affiliated with Sindhuli Apanga Sangh and contributes to local-level disability advocacy and capacity building. Her engagement strengthens DHRPS’s grassroots networks and community outreach.
