The Disability Human Rights Promotion Society Nepal (DHRPS), in collaboration with AYNI under the Local Innovators 2025 Program, recently organized an engaging and participatory webinar titled “Dreaming a Common Goal: Co-Creating Inclusive Systems Through the Change Network”. The event centered around the theme “Legal Identity and Cultural Belonging of Indigenous Youth in Nepal” and brought together Change Network members, Indigenous leaders, youth, experts, and facilitators for an in-depth discussion and knowledge exchange.
The webinar aimed to validate the survey study “Exploring Legal Identity, Participation, and Belonging among Indigenous Youth in Nepal”, conducted by DHRPS in partnership with AYNI. Participants reviewed and discussed the Collaborative Systemic Innovation Canvas, which included a system map, problem tree, hypotheses, stakeholder roles, theory of change, and empathy map. This structured approach helped participants to collectively analyze the issues, identify gaps, and propose actionable solutions.
During the session, attendees shared valuable feedback, lessons learned, and lived experiences that reflected the realities faced by Indigenous youth in Nepal. The discussion emphasized the urgent need for stronger legal recognition, cultural revitalization, and inclusive participation of Indigenous youth in decision-making processes.
The event concluded with a co-creation exercise, where participants prioritized solutions and worked toward building consensus for a shared vision. This collaborative spirit marked an important step toward addressing systemic challenges and fostering a more inclusive and culturally affirming environment for Indigenous youth in Nepal.
